ISV Architects is an architectural practice based in Athens and London, led by three senior partners: Babis Ioannou, Tasos Sotiropoulos and Alexander Van Gilder. Starting back in 1977, by undertaking complex building projects in Greece and abroad, ISV architects is widely known for its simple and restrained design language, transcribing a modern architectural vocabulary into the ever changing scene of the 21st century. ISV aspires to a portfolio of international projects ranging from large scale residential complexes, hotels and office buildings to small scale interior design projects.
ISV Architects has a multidisciplinary approach to architecture, with a profound and proven ability to deal with the core architectural issues from three complementary perspectives: architectural design, construction and development.
Today ISV Architects employs a 60 people-strong staff, including architects, construction managers, interior designers and CGI artists. Following the course set for four decades, ISV Architects continues to produce an architecture that beyond everything else pursuits the joy of life. La joie de vivre.

Architecture
Architecturally, our core values are bound to an anthropocentric design approach that gives priority to the enhancement of human well being. Key elements to ISV’s architecture are the delicate use of natural and artificial light, the distinct and comprehensible spatial geometry as the leading factor to a proper architectural composition and the fusion of the indoors with the outdoors spaces through controlled transparency and unified function. The architectural form is not set as a primary challenge. It simply derives from our design procedure, which is directed from the interior towards the exterior of our architecture, be it a residence, a housing complex, a hotel, a venue or an office building.
Construction
We strongly believe that a fine architectural design without being properly constructed is a story half told. That is the reason why ISV Architects was introduced since day one as a practice with the ability to construct its own designs. Our construction practice is characterized by constant experimentation with new materials, new technologies and the development of innovative structural solutions, ensuring that the architectural design is further enhanced by the way it is materialized. All that performed in a very subdued manner, leaving architecture its vital breathing space.
Development
We envisage development and real estate management as a supplementary way to introduce our architecture to a broader, international audience. As a development firm, ISV is active in the acquisition of land, development, construction and sales of residential and business premises.
