Country Villas

Context and craftsmanship are key in our country houses. A limited palette of locally sourced materials provides an emphatic sense of place. Guided by ISV’s in-house construction team, specialist stonemasons, carpenters, and marble workers ensure that the final outcome is a perfect rendition of the initial maquette. This enduring quality is the foundation of unaffected design that quietly makes an impression without dominating the setting.

Wide open spaces and floor-to-ceiling windows bring the landscape into the buildings, a balm for mind and eye. Even so, there is nothing rustic or traditional about these rural residences. An affirmative statement of Greek modernism, the architecture is a deliberately simple composition of geometric volumes and horizontal planes, which instil a profound sense of harmony and balance. Liberated from historical references or futuristic gimmicks, the focus is on creating liveable spaces that will give pleasure to their inhabitants for a lifetime. Our work over four decades is an ongoing study in abstraction and consistency, achieved through the correct proportions, orientation, and practical use of space.

If the architecture and interiors are an exercise in restraint, plenty of experimentation goes into the hidden features of our country houses. Innovative technologies and structural solutions are applied to reduce energy and water consumption, with sustainability always a priority in the resource-scarce Mediterranean.
